ENERGY JET – HURUNUI RIVER EXPERIENCES
Energy Jet is passionate about helping people experience this hidden gem of a river and our surrounding environment. We are a small family owned business that offers you a real local New Zealand jet boating experience.
As the only jet-boat operator on the Hurunui river, we have exclusive access to over 100km of the river and its amazing variety allowing you to personalise your trip preferences. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the wild coastline, stunning North Canterbury farmland and pristine alpine snowfed waters as your skipper expertly navigates the shallow river braids & narrow canyons.
Energy Jet can also extend your adventure to combine the thrill of jet boating with scenic picnic options. These feature delicious, fresh locally produced rustic produce enabling you to grab a taste of how kiwis connect with their natural surroundings.
Energy Jet is located just one hour from Christchurch at the bridge of the Hurunui river on State Highway 1.
KAIKOURA COAST TRACK

Restrictions: Open October to April
The Kaikoura Coast Track is a hidden gem of the South Island. The track covers 26km of stunning scenery. Luggage transported between the two nights accommodation. Each day you'll hike for 4-6 hours giving you plenty of time to soak it all in.
GORE BAY SURF COACHING & SURF BOARD HIRE
On the spot at Gore Bay, Nukuroa and Heidi have all you need to learn to surf, improve your surfing or if you don't have your surfing gear and want to just check out what the Gore Bay waves have to offer, give them a call. Both have been surf coaching for over 20 years and competed internationally so you are in safe, experienced hands.
Beginners Learn To Surf Classes includes water safety, ocean awareness, basic surfing technique and wave reading.
Intermediate Surfing Classes include video analysis of your surfing, surfing physical preparation, surfing technique, visualization and wave reading.
Advanced or Competitive Surfing Classes include video analysis of your surfing, surfing physical preparation, surfing technique, wave reading, visualization, thinking patterns, competitive strategy.

WEKA PASS RAILWAY
The Weka Pass Railway is a historic rural railway using both vintage steam and diesel-electric locomotives through the unique limestone beauty of the Weka Pass out of Waipara, where superior weather patterns provide crystal clear air and high sunshine hours. The Weka Pass Railway is a totally voluntary organization, whose members are dedicated to the preservation of New Zealand’s rail heritage.
